Is it offensive for a non muslim to wear a veil?

She is a British woman (christian) and whilst happy with her own lifestyle, she admires muslim views on modesty. Would it be seen as wrong or offensive for her to wear a veil or headscarf if she wished? What are your opinions and views on this?
