Should I be scared be being rejected?

Ok. so I really like this guy and I want to date him. But he is kinda hard to try to figure out. I think he is flirting with me. But I can't tell. Should I ask if he likes me? But I really think the guy should do it. WHAT SHOULD I DO?!
