How would you define modesty?

I think the concept of modesty spills into several different areas of life. To me, modesty is not bragging about or showing off your possessions or financial/vocational prowess. It is not bragging about or showing off your intelligence, social connections, or anything else that you could use to make yourself seem "better" than other people. Also, there is modesty with the body, meaning that you don't flaunt your body so that the opposite sex desires you physically, saving yourself only for your significant other.
